When is the season?

The season officially starts in Mid-August with practices 2x a week, adding Saturday Tigard Youth Football games starting in September, ending the last week of October (sometimes the first week in November).

Who coaches the teams?

Volunteers! Our coaches are parents/adults and mentors from the Tigard High School Cheer Team.

No experience is necessary to join Tigard Youth Cheer! All cheerleaders will learn everything they need during practices, with guidance from our coaches and mentors from the Tigard High School Cheer Team.

We do not hold tryouts - our program is open to all kids in grades K–8. EVERYONE IS WELCOME!

What team will I be placed on?

Teams are organized by the grade the cheerleader will be in for the 2025-2026 school year.

When and where are practices?

Practices will start mid-August 2x a week, days and times are not yet finalized but will most likely be Monday's and Wednesday's, starting at or around 6:15pm, at Twality Middle School.

When are games?

Tigard Youth Football games are on Saturday’s, times TBD, and are organized by grade level/group. All games are played at Tigard High School.

How much does the program cost?

Registration is $250 for the season. We are a nonprofit organization run by a volunteer board and volunteer coaches – the cost goes towards insurance, building fees, training equipment, business expenses, etc...

Registration fee also includes our READY, SET, CHEER! season kick off camp that will be the first 2 days of practice, cheer performance with the high school cheer team at a Varsity football game, and cheering in the Tigard High School Homecoming Parade! (more details to come!)

Uniform cost is $250 which includes Shell, Skirt, Jacket, 2 Practice Shirts, Backpack, Poms, and Bows. (Note: Uniform style/design will change every 3-4 years. Depending on the growth of your child, many items can be used for multiple seasons)

We understand that the fees may seem high, however, they are very comparable - and in many cases, less expensive - than similar youth programs throughout the Portland metro area.

Are there other items needed for practice/games?

Yes! There are additional items provided by the cheerleader that are needed for practice and/or games.
